standardHalf Way For PBW House

Just wanted to quickly point out that we are half way to raising the necessary money to get a new shelter for the Pretty Bird Woman House. As always I am proud of the selfless charity from the liberal sites and our wonderful readers.

For those of you who missed my last piece on the Pretty Bird Woman House here is a short summery. The PBW House is a woman’s shelter serving the native women who live on the Standing Rock reservation. Our nation’s native people are 250% more likely to be the victim of sexual violence. This combined with their remote location makes Pretty Bird Woman House immensely important for these women.

Recently PBW House lost their shelter due to vandalism and arson. We are working to raise the $70,000 needed for a new house. This new shelter would be a safe place for abused women and their children. In the last month we have raised half the money, and I am confident we can raise the last half just as fast.

I know that this time of year it is hard to find extra money. For that reason I am calling on you to support them in any way possible. Place a collection widget on your website or Myspace profile, tell your friends and family, or even promote this story on your favorite social bookmarking site (easy to use buttons provided).

If you can afford to make a donation then please do so. This is a wonderful cause and the women who run PBW House, and the women and children who depend on it, are great people who deserve your support.

Thanks for your time, and please spread the word. I would love to see this goal reached in time for Christmas.
