standardMcCain’s Lobbyist Buddies

Ok, so I said I wouldn’t write on the weekends. Technically it’s still Friday night though so it’s not really the weekend yet. I just wanted to leave you all with this video that News Hounds posted earlier. Something to think about as the McCain adultery/corruption case unfolds.

As you watch this video keep in mind that John McCain has been saying that “I’m The Only Candidate That The Special Interests Don’t Give Money To”. Odd how he never mentions that he has a lobbyist doing business right out of the “Straight Talk Express” bus. Or that he has 59 lobbyists on his campaign staff. The most of any candidate on either party.

Yeah. Republicans. Standing up for truth and honesty except for when they are not. That’s some straight talk there folks. Head over to Brave New Films and sign the petition they have going there asking McCain to return the Millions he has collected from lobbyists.

standardClinton Should Not Drop Out

Ok, I have made no attempts to hide my support for Hillary Clinton over the past year but even I can see that her odds are very long. Now many will start crying for her to step down and support Barack Obama at this point. In fact, there are already cries for this very thing. [...]

standardSheeple for Huckabee

Winston Churchill once said “The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” I never really understood that quote until I started getting more involved in politics. It didn’t take long for me to disillusion myself of the notion that the average Americans political views were well researched and rational. The [...]

standardKansas is Obama/Huckabee

Well its official, I am living in an Obama/Huckabee state. Kansans overwhelmingly chose these two candidates as our picks for president. So, do you think the country is polarized yet? Obama is running on the change and progressive values ticket, while Huckabee is running on the “I will change the constitution to reflect the Christian [...]

standardCatching Up

As always anymore I am playing catch up. Between full time job, part time job, full time school, a wife, and kids there just isn’t enough time in the day. On the bright side the part time job is winding down, school is over in July when I finish my Bachelor’s degree(!!!), and that will [...]

standardReflections on the Debate

I watched the CNN Debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton tonight and I have to say that I was impressed by both of them. Barack has steadily gained public speaking skills and Hillary has finely honed her already amazing ones. There are, of course, many similarities in policy between the two but I was [...]

standardObama With Lead in Hotly Contested Iowa Caucuses

With the Iowa caucuses being held tomorrow and the New Hampshire Primary five days later the race for the Democratic nomination is definitely heating up. A recent poll in Iowa shows Obama pulling ahead of Clinton by quite a large margin. In fact, the Des Moines Register has Obama with 32%, Clinton with 25%, and [...]

standardSummer’s Response to Ron Paul Supporters

The article I wrote entitled 10 Reasons Not to Vote for Ron Paul has generated tons of comments, most from his supporters. Here is just a quick response to some of these. I have not provided references within this response but please see the previous article for tons of them. Ok, so I am going [...]

standardTom Tancredos Top 3 Election Issues

Tom Tancredo is widely known as the candidate most likely to appeal to racists, bigots, and xenophobes. So, aside from going for the conservative fundamentalist Christian vote, what else is Tom Tancredo doing? Here are three television commercials that he has run, outlining his top three issues for presidency. I think that they pretty much [...]

standard10 Reasons Not to Vote for Ron Paul

As anyone with a blog, YouTube account, MySpace page, or web site knows Ron Paul supporters are everywhere! The internet is filled with them. Although we are a progressive blog and both William and I support Democratic candidates, vocally, we are constantly barraged with pleas and “stories” to win us over. The frightening thing that [...]
