standardAnd The Winners Are……

Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee! The Democratic candidate whose platform is “Change” won the caucuses with 38% of the vote followed by Edwards with 30% and Clinton in third with 29%. This is an important win bestowing great momentum on Obama’s campaign as the primary season kicks off. On the Republican side Huckabee, appealing largely to the ultra conservative religious crowd, triumphed over the other nominees with 34% to Romney’s 25% and Fred Thompson and John McCain’s 13%.

Of course when there are clear winners there are also clear losers. Biden and Dodd who got 1% and less than 1% respectively, have both dropped out of the campaign. Richardson, with 2%, Gravel and Kucinich, both with 0%, are still apparently remaining in the race.

Tuesday will be the New Hampshire primary where Giuliani, who only took 3% of the Iowa votes, has been busy campaigning. This primary season looks as if it will be an interesting one.

On a side note, Kansas took the Orange Bowl! Go Jayhawks!

  1. I can never understand why a candidate gets out after Iowa. At least wait for a real primary before you decide.

I am glad Edwards came in above Hillary.
