According to The Huffington Post Senator Clinton has stated that she will not cross the picket lines to take part in the upcoming CBS Debate if their employees go on strike. While several other Democrats have spoken in support of the strike by The Writers Guild of America, this is the strongest stand yet. As the front running candidate, her action is very likely to force others to adopt similar positions.

“The workers at CBS News have been without a contract for close to two and a half years,” the Senator said. “It is my hope that both sides will reach an agreement that results in a secure contract for the workers at CBS News but let me be clear: I will honor the picket line if the workers at CBS News decide to strike.”

Senator Clinton has a long history of supporting the working class and unions so this hard stand is not a surprise for those who support her. I have been pushing for Clinton since the beginning and its nice to have something over on Kucinich for once. Maybe this will stop Summer from gloating for a day or two. In any event it is good to see Senator Clinton taking the lead on important issues.

Via TPM Election Central: Edwards has added his name to the list of Democrats who will not cross a picket line to attend the upcoming debate. Anyone else going to follow Clinton’s lead?
