standardAnother Bush Crony Resigns Amid Allegations

The newest Bushie to leave the administration is HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson. He has announced his resignation, to spend time with his family, effective 4/18/2008. Not surprisingly his farewell speech made no mention of his criminal investigation or many allegations of political favortism.

Of course, President Bush, who lived in the same neighborhood as Jackson in the 80′s, called him a “strong leader and a good man.” He has been a leader with HUD for 7 years and in that time has had many, many controversial moments.

The FBI began looking in October 2007 at Jackson’s alleged favoritism. A friend of Jackson received $390,000 as a construction manager in New Orleans after Jackson asked another friend to give his name to the Housing Authority of New Orleans.

In 2006, Jackson bragged to a group of executives that he had revoked a contract because the applicant said he didn’t like President Bush. This was investigated but no action was taken against him. The investigation did uncover very strained relationships between the Secretary and several contractors that had been doing business with HUD for a long time, most of them donors to the Democratic party.

Another situation came to light in which the Secretary himself blocked a contract for several months to one Democratic donor. He tried to blame the tie up on his aides but they were having none of that. One of the aides contradicted his account to the HUD Investigator General. Shockingly, nothing was done about that incident either. *sarcasm*

So we bid you adieu, Mr. Jackson. May you ride the tidal wave of corruption into your next lucratively paying position secured by your many years of political ass kissing and reckless disregard for the laws of this nation.

Today was the day for the Million Fag March here in Topeka, KS and it was a great success! The march was in protest against the hatred spewed by Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church. standardPreachers Say the Darndest Things pt2

At long last I bring you part 2 of my three part series on the Reverend Wright “controversy” and the hypocrisy that surrounds it. This controversy has been totally fabricated by the radical conservatives and propagated by our spineless and sensationalist media. Instead of honest conversations on the points brought up in Wright’s sermons we [...]

standardHillary Stop the Attacks by Obama Girl

Obama Girl is out with another great song and video titled “Hillary! Stop the attacks!”. I enjoyed it, even though I still believe that Hillary should remain in the race. My personal support for her has greatly diminished but that is a topic for another day. You may recognize the voice of Leah Coffman who [...]

standardPreachers Say the Darndest Things pt1

By this time I am sure you are at least somewhat aware of the media created “controversy” surrounding Barack Obama’s pastor Reverend Wright. There have been those on the right who have been perpetrating the myth that Barack Obama, on virtue of being a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, is a black racist. [...]

All in all a great weekend. Sadly though its Monday morning and time to get back to work. So I thought to help [...]

standardDemocracy Every 4 Years

The other day Vice President Dick Cheney, the 4th branch of the government, responded to the statement from Martha Radatz that “two-thirds of Americans say” the Iraq war “is not worth fighting.” With a blunt “So?”. Now some people found that troubling. Considering the White House’s disdain for the common people I would have been [...]
